Selena looked up and sighed. "Can I help you?" she asked, setting aside the paperwork in front of her.
"You never called me," the man said sharply, narrowing his eyes at her.
Selena tapped her chin thoughtfully. "I'm terribly sorry, sir," she said with a smile. "I was a little tied up recently."
"You could have called," the man grumbled, folding his arms across his chest.
"Mr. Lawson," Selena sighed, pushed to her feet. She rolled her eye while her back was to him. "I am not required to help you. I can if I so choose, but there is no law that says I must. You signed no contract with me."
Mr. Lawson's eyes bugged out of his head. "You're not going to get rid of my crazy wife?" he demanded.
Selena sighed and leaned her hip against her desk. "No, Mr. Lawson, I'm not."
"You can't do that!" Mr. Lawson spluttered, his face turning an unhealthy shade of red.
"Oh, but she can," Jericho said, suddenly behind Mr. Lawson. He flashed an unfriendly smile and folded his arms across his chest, looking delicious and imposing.
Mr. Lawson stumbled back a step, his eyes threatening to fall out of his head and roll around the floor. Selena chuckled silently, thinking that she could put them in a jar for him. "So, Mr. Lawson," she continued, unperturbed by Jericho's sudden appearance. "As you can see, I do not have to help you and you would do well to remember that."
"So you lied to me," Mr. Lawson said, a vein throbbing in the side of his neck.
"Yes," Selena nodded. "I lied because I wanted you out of my office because you're a creep."
Mr. Lawson, if at all possible, got even redder in the face and spittle formed in the corners of him mouth. "You bitch," he blurted, his hands clenching into fists at his sides.
Jonathan chose that moment to "stumble" into the room. He "lost" control of his white cane as Selena and Jericho ducked and it clocked Mr. Lawson in the side of the head, sending him toppling over into the wall. He whirled on Jonathan, prepared to let him have it until he saw that he could not see.
He glared at Selena, shot a dark look at Jericho and stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind him. Selena slipped around the desk and stretched up on her toes to press a kiss to Jericho's lips." Hey," she said brightly.
"Hey boss," Jonathan said, bending to one knee to ruffle Belle's fur with his good arm as she slept soundly at his feet. He still wore his cast and it wasn't coming of for a nother few weeks, but he was getting on alright.
"Hm?" Selena asked, turning to look at him.
"The police are on their way to Mr. Lawson's home to question him, like you asked," he smiled.
"Good," Selena said with a grin.
"Why do you want the police to question him?" Jericho asked, wrapping his arms around her.
Selena shrugged. "A little birdie told me that he was a murderer," she laughed.
Nyx'sReincarnation -I don't get it often, that's for sure. I don't take offence at all. I was wondering if it would ever happen, lol.
That's it! A light little ending for the gang. Bet you all forgot about Mr. Lawson, huh? Did you know he murdered his wife and THAT was why she haunted him? Selena doesnt work with murderers.
Alright then, I hope you enjoyed Don't Look! Now I'm off to start The Unnaturals!
