"Friends"
Author: Zorra Reed

Friends are the glue of life
held together by a string of lies.

Twisting words the way time bends
to sound like sweet breathy wind.

Everyday as the sun sets
I hang my mask up in the closet.

You lift me up
to the star-burned midnight sky.

We are two hearts, hand in hand
on intersecting paths we stand.

Dance with me

Our wings outstretched
laughing so loud - we're enveloped in the sound.

The stars are happy

Friends are the glue of life
held together by a string of lies.

You fling me down on to the ground
your touch, like fairy fingerprints, has branded me.

With an array of colorful scars
marred on my heart.

I am a dancer in a daydream
trapped by force of will.
