Oh the Coo Coo, she's a pretty bird and she wobbles when she flies
But the urban wind beneath her wings drowns out her little cries.
The further she flies from the Coo Coo nest, the deafer she's become
To the whispered lies of her Coo Coo brain and all that's been undone.
She left behind her branchless tree, drawn in by the lights of the shining city
But the city stars aren't real you see, and there's no place for the wild to be free
"The shine isn't real." did the Coo Coo cry
"I'm in a cage and I can't fly."
"Tick tock, tick tock," taunts the Coo Coo clock.
"Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock."
Oh the Coo Coo, she's an aimless bird and she don't know where to fly
So she spread her wings and ran away to where the sea meets the sky
There's a heart in the tide calling "Coo Coo, you don't need to run no more.
I'll be the wind beneath your wings so let go of your fear and soar.
I'll help you grow a brand new tree, away from the hurt where your heart used to be,
There's more stars than even you see and a place to run wild 'cause I need to be free."
It's all good little Coo Coo, no need to cry.
I won't clip your wings so you can't fly."
"Tick tock, tick tock, sings the Coo Coo clock.
"Tock tock. Tick tock. Tick tock."
Oh the Coo, she's a cruel bird but only for what's best.
Now someone else's calling Coo Coo, home one flew over the Coo Coo's nest.
