Next two days, I was able to get on my feet and walk. I didn't know how to thank these people,of the snow, to help me out like that. After I figured out the business my mother's been doing, nothings been on my mind.
I grabbed my heavy jacket, and zipped it up. The mother, who I called, Mother snow, gave me bottled water, and some fruits.
"I know it's been only 2 days," She said. "But I understand, that you can't stay here."
"Thank you, for taking care of me. I don't know if I would still be alive."
"It's no problem, that's what we do! Where are you going anyway?"
"I'm looking for a friend, and her mother. By any chance, do you know a Ukine Kurtz?"
"Ukine? That sounds like she belongs in the east…"
"Yeah! She's Japanese!"
"Oh well, a family passed by months ago, during the bombing down in valland. I don't know who the father was, but he was a vampire, and his daughter, who looked like a snow angel…"
Jensi…that had to be them.
"Do you know where they headed?"
"In Japan. I don't know if they migrated, but…that's where he told me he was going."
"Thanks! By the way, where's Elany?"
"She's waiting outside for you to say bye, she'll tell you what to do next."
"Thank you, so much."
"By the way, check your left pocket in your jacket." She smiled and walked away. I did check, and I felt something cold, and rubbery. I pulled it out, and it was a small pack of blood.
It's been months, since I've drank that stuff. I smiled, to hide my tears of joy.
Elany was sitting there playing with the snow, and it was still snowing.
"Alright," I began. "I said bye to your mom, what next?" She turned around, not so surprised.
"You just go down south until you see a small village down in east sinem, and you'll know the rest from there. You won't need money for transportation. Vampires evacuated during the bombing." It got quiet, but again, she broke that. "I guess we go different ways!"
"I can tell you hate awkward silence." She turned red.
"Shut up! I was trying to be kind!"
"Don't talk as if we known each other for years."
"Two days does go by so fast…you're so lucky, you're probably going to the coldspace, aren't you?" She looked down, sad. I smiled and patted her head.
"If I see your brother there, I'll tell him that you're looking for him, okay?" She smiled with joy. She took off her necklace, and put it in my coat pocket.
Then the guilt of me killing her brother rose.
"Give him this, okay? I heard when you're in the coldspace, you forget , maybe this will trigger his memory." I walked away, in the cold, but my jacket was keeping me warm. "Visit us, okay?"
I waved her goodbye one last time. I guess that it was my 3rd home I could go to, but I couldn't stay. I walked towards the south, it was so bright and windy. It was too bad I had to do it by foot. I used all my strength and body to do so.
Seconds felt like minutes. Minutes felt like hours. Hours felt like days and so on. I lost track of time. I didn't know how much time has elapse on the snow.
Most of the time I was day dreaming and dozing off, but I kept on walking. I day dreamed that nessa was on the other end, waiting for me with her uniform. It gave me strength to walk more. The wind became harsh, and brutal. The snow became stronger. Even with gloves, my fingers were frozen. I reached into my right coat pocket, and felt something unusual. I slowly pulled it out, and a bright purple feather was glowing.
I tried to remember, where did I get this from?
I stood there, trying to recall, bit by bit. Me being in the coldspace, and seing feathers…Nessa!
I laughed in joy. It was nessa's! But still, I was forgetting someone. I put the feather back in the pocket, it wasn't important. I had to go to japan.
As hours passed by, I was finally weak. I collapsed on my knees.
"Don't give up now!" I exclaimed. I took out the bag full of blood and I drank it by the pint. The disgusting taste made me want to throw up. Maybe it's dog's blood. It doesn't matter. Soon, it was all gone. It didn't help much, but it quenched my thirst alittle bit. I saw someones legs right onfront of me. I looked up, to see this tall man, hover over me. He lifted me up and said,
"You're just like a strey dog, you never leave our side, do you?" He asked. I smiled, to realize it was Nikolous's voice.
"You are my family, after all…" I mumbled. Nikolous placed me into his car, it was so warm. I was already near the main road, and I didn't know it. I tried to gain some heat.
"I thought you'd be dead," He said as he began to drive.
"How did you know I was here?" I asked.
"Jensi told me, and she bothered me to go get you."
"Do you know where Felise is hiding?"
"Sinem, but that place is contaminated with corrupted vampires, I wouldn't go back."
"I don't have a choice. Felise knows how to get Nessa out." An hour later, we arrived in a small suburb. The houses looked nice, and clean. We both got out, and I followed Nikolous into a house.
"I'm back!" He exclaimed as he took of his jacket. "Ukine, Jensi?" Jensi ran down the hall, and she looked so surprised when she saw me. I waved with a crack smile.
"Hi," I said.
"So my predictions were right," She said. "You are still alive. Well, that's good. You can continue to fight." Jensi seemed the same. I sighed. "Follow me, I'll show you were your room is." I did so, and the room was fairly big, but warm. I jumped on the bed with tears in my eyes.
"Thank you so much!" I said to her.
"Don't get confortable. You'll be leaving soon anyways."
"Why?"
"Because I know where felise's is hiding.
And she's planning to bring the world apon hell, and only you can stop her." She walked towards me, and I got off the bed. "You're weak and starving, I know you've been sleeping in the snow for a while, and I know its hard to get back on track. That's why I'm here."
I didn't know where she was getting at, but whatever she wanted to do, she looked determined. We both heard footsteps rushing down the hall, and Ukine opened the door with tears in her eyes.
"EDEN!" She exclaimed as she ran and hugged me. "I thought both of my sons are gone…but now I see, you're still alive and well!"
"Sorry for making you worry," I said.
"Oh you must be hungry! Lets eat dinner to celebrate Edens arrival!" Ukine ran out with joy. I turned around to Jensi again.
"What were you saying?" I asked her.
"I'm hungry…" She replied as she walked out of the room. I followed.
During dinner, Ukine made this chicken thing, it looked delicious, it made my mouth water.
"So where were you for all these months?" Ukine asked me.
"I was in Valland, and then I was staying at someones home, then I came here."
"Well, we're glad to have you back, the house has been quiet without you, nessa and soya…" She slowly placed down her fork. Nikolous looked at her, and so did Jensi. I felt the sadness around Ukine, it broke my heart. "My children, are just gone from me, like magic…"
"I'll bring Nessa back." The all turned their heads to me. "I'll definantly bring her back, alive and smiling to you. You've waited long enough, you don't deserve to be sad like this." I was always determined to bring her back, but for whom was I doing it for? Not just for her family, but for me also. Without nessa, I felt lonely.
So many things were so important to me, and Felise took it all away from me.
After I finished my dinner, I walked back into my room, exasted. There wasn't any windows in my room, and then I realized how dark it would be when I'd shut the lights off.
Even in the shed, some light would come in. Jensi walked into the room, and I jumped because she looked like a ghost.
"I'm not sorry to interrupt your fantasies," She began.
"Don't you mean the total opposite?!" Some manners she had.
"It's not important, now sit down somewhere, we need to get into business."
"Can't I sleep first? I'm tired!"
"There's no sleeping when it comes to fighting the worse!" I sat down on the floor, pissed off.
"Fine…" Jensi sat down on the floor and sighed.
"By the time we're finished with this conversation, you'll be in your home, 10 times stronger you are now, faster and smarter."
"Okay, god, what else?"
"Felise is sleeping in the basement, she's gaining strength ever minute she sleeps. She's planning to surrender the world to the devil."
"Dear god…"
"That's not it. She's pulling out dead souls from the coldspace, and making them into advanced vampires."
"I thought advanced vampires were born from full fledged vampires."
"It's a lie to cover up their secret. Advanced vampires like Blane Windrow and his siblings were made from felise." I knew it! I was right after all. "She's planning to create more like him. Zack was an advanced vampire, he had the power to kiss the dead, and bring them back into life. You are one too, but no one knows what you have."
"What?! So I have some special powers and I don't even know what it is?!"
"You may never know what it is, have you experienced something unusual, that you've done on your own will?"
"Well…" I tried to think back. "During the bombing, I was knocked out cold, and then I entered the coldspace, and the same thing happened again, but I passed out."
"Maybe that's it, but don't get your hopes up."
"Why would Felise give me the power to go to the cold space? That's just the ticket of defeating her."
"Felise didn't give the power to you. Who know's the next vampire she creates might have the power to look at her, and kill her with their own eyes." Jensi stood up. "I don't have much time left, you need to go pretty soon." I stood up also. "And try not to be hypocritical about this situation eden. I understand that Blane belonged and the coldspace, and you wanted to send him there, but don't forget, if he doesn't belong on this ground, then neither do you." She walked towards me. "But you're the protagonist of this story ,the hero of the world., and you mustn't die."
"I won't. I will win."
"Saying it may be easy, but doing it might be impossible, I'll ask you one more time, Will you win?"
"Yes I will!" I felt like I was in the army. She moved her hair to the side, exposing her neck.
"Then drink my blood, Eden."
"What?!"
"I've been preparing for my whole life to find someone who can finally fight. You have great will power, and you can win."
"But I can never bite into someones neck…I can't. Just because I'm a vampire doesn't mean my heart is still set to it. Sure, I have to thank it for saving my life a dozen of times. I know I have to sooner or later but I still can't accept it yet." She grabbed my shirt in anger.
"There isn't no 'yet' or sooner or later! Accept it now because we don't have time! Felise is going to kill us all, and you'll never see nessa ever again!" She wasn't angry, I knew that. She looked so scared. Her hand was trembling. She was putting all of her trust on me, and here I stood, pulling back. I smiled.
"Alright." She let me go, and I fixed my shirt. I pet her head, telling her it's okay.
"Any last words before you leave?" I laughed to myself.
"I hope that your blood tastes good." Jensi smiled.
"I don't know that for sure, you'll have to figure out yourself." She slowly shut her eyes. Why was it nessasary? I didn't know, but if Jensi said I had to do it, then I had too. I was happy that my mother told me to leave the house, I wouldn't have meet such amazing people, and I wouldn't have known the truth. Jensi was so freaking short. I bent down. She looked at me.
"Thank you," I said to her as I bit her neck. She grapped my shirt, and she tried to hold her scream in. I was sorry if it was so painful. My teeth were so sharp.
Her blood tastes weird. It wasn't sweet nor bitter, it had no taste to it. As I drank it, I felt so sad though. I felt all the sadness draining onto me. All those memories, and past life, Jensi wasn't a happy person for a reason.
My vision was getting blurry. Drinking her blood felt like there was no end to it.
I remember…that I pulled her away from me, but I couldn't hear. Everything was hazy…but I turned away from her, and ran into the total darkness.
It was impossible to see, and impossible to turn back.
My heart was set out to kill Felise, and to bring Nessa back. Nothing more, nothing less.
