Where the Trees Talk

She once went,
To where the trees talk,
When her eyes were blurred,
And her heart was torn.

And she sat beneath,
The tallest oak,
Amongst the leaves,
And noted roots.

And there she wept,
For her tattered soul,
And her broken life,
And her ruined world.

And behind her,
The trees began to stir,
And, sensing her distress,
They started whispering.
