I woke up and rubbed my eyes. I looked at my clock.

"Man, I'm gonna be late for school." I said to myself.

I jumped out of bed and brushed my teeth. I put on some clothes and grabbed my backpack.

"Bye mom!" I said running out not waiting for her reply.

I hopped on my bike and peddled. Huh, there isn't much traffic today I thought as I looked around.

There weren't any cars on the street. In fact I was all alone on the road. I shrugged. It's a small town I thought. I locked my bike and went to school. I grabbed the door and it was closed.

"What the hell? It's 8:00. School is supposed to start now." I said confused.

Maybe I forgot some holiday or something I wondered.

"Well, I guess that means I play some Minecraft." I said going home.

I went inside. "Hey mom, did you know that school is closed?" I asked as I took off my backpack. No answer.

"Mom, are you there?" I asked. Nothing.

"Mom, Dad, are you guys here?" I asked looking in the living room.

It was empty. What is going on? Mom's car is still in the driveway and so is Dad's.

"Something really messed up is happening." I said to myself.

I ran up stairs. Nothing. I grabbed my phone called mom and dad. There wasn't any dial tone. By now I was really freaked out. I called my friends and still nothing. Desperately I called 911.

"This is 911, state your emergency." I heard the computerized voice say.

"I would like to call in a missing persons report." I said.

"I'm sorry; we can't answer your call right now. Please try again." I heard the voice say.

I felt very small. There wasn't anyone. I ran outside. I ran past stores that were still closed. I stood in the middle of the empty road.

"I'm all alone. There isn't anyone in the whole town." I said to myself.

In the corner of my eye I saw movement. "Hello? Is anyone there?" I yelled.

I ran after the thing. Something was ahead of me. I rounded the corner. What I saw was stopped me in my tracks. It was a floating metallic eye. I've seen enough sci fi movies to know that it was a camera. Something is watching me I thought.

"Hey, can you tell me what's going on?" I asked the thing knowing that someone was watching.

The Eye blinked and floated past me. I ran after it.

"This has got to be some messed up dream or something." I said to myself.

It was too fast for me. "I should have gone to gym class." I muttered.

"TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON YOU BASTARDS!" I screamed.

I kicked a wall. "What now? I'm just supposed to live in a world all by myself." I said my voice breaking.

I shook my head. "No, there has got to be someone in the world." I said.

I went home and took the keys to my dad's car. "I wish you were here to ground me dad." I whispered.

I started the car and headed for the next town. Luckily there weren't many people on road. Ha, I've still got a sense of humor. Or I'm starting to go insane I thought. I soon reached the outskirts of town. I was almost out of the city when- CRASH! I hit something. Good thing the airbags were working. I went outside to see what I hit. There was nothing. The car was completely totaled. I guess I'm walking I thought. I hit a wall. I fell backwards.

"What the …?" I asked confused.

I touched an invisible wall. "What the hell is a force field doing here?" I asked.

"This is way too bizarre." I muttered. Well there world is empty I thought. Suddenly a swarm of the eye things came near me. "

This is not good." I said as dashed away.

The things were chasing me. I ran as fast as I could. I was nearing the unfinished bridge. I stepped closer to the edge.

"Stay back, you bastards!" I shouted. My foot touched the edge of the bridge. I looked at the 50 foot drop. The Eyes charged at me…

"Was that necessary?" A green skinned man in a lab coat asked.

A tall blue and red skinned man glared at him. "We have gathered what we needed from subject 259. That "human" was no longer needed. "He said saying the word human as if it was disgusting

"But we could have studied the effects on this one a little more before you got rid of it." The green man said.

"It had already figured out the field and if we let it, it could have escaped the Cage. Then humans might discover our presence." The blue man said.

He looked at a large number of screens.

"Besides, we have a whole planet full of humans to research. What's one more?" The blue man said smirking.

Well this was just a short little one shot that I wrote a while ago. It's not as scary as I thought it would be but I think it's alright. That's it for now. So, Later!
