"You must be, Regean. Hi, call me Sarah. Please come in." Sarah said eagerly, shaking my hand.
"Let me go find the little one." Sarah said, as she walked upstairs.
Sarah returned with a little girl in her arms.
"This is, Mia." Sarah said.
"She's so adorable! Hey, Mia." I cooed.
"Hi." Mia answered.
Sarah quickly handed me Mia.
"There's a list of things you need to know on the kitchen counter."
"Wait! You want me to start now?"
But it was too late, Sarah was already out the door.
I decided to look over the list.
"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere." I said to Mia as I sat her down on the living room couch.
When I got to the kitchen, I scanned the wooden counters for a note. My eye's spotted a piece of paper laying by the sink. I picked it up and started reading:
There are a few things you should know about Mia. Mia has some 'special needs', if she wants something, just give it to her! If strange things start to happen, just give me a call. Let her do what she wants. And most importantly, don't leave her alone, she tends to wonder off and hide!
I ran to the living room. Just as I feared, she was gone!
"Mia! Mia!" I yelled as calmly as I could.
I ran up the stairs and down the hall, suddenly I stopped when I heard a very faint laughter coming from a room.
I had finally found her! She was playing with her pet hamster.
Oh, how sweet! I thought.
"Looky! Whiskers learned a new trick!" Mia said as she turned around, revealing the hamster in her hand.
I let out a horrifying scream. The poor hamster was decapitated! Mia held his tiny head in one hand and his bloody body in the other.
I jerked Mia up, making her drop the mangled Whiskers.
"Stop it! What are you doing? I wanna play!" Mia yelled.
"No playing right now. I have to wash you up, you may get sick!"
"I WANNA PLAY!" Mia screamed.
Before I knew it, she bit me, I looked down, blood was dripping down my arm.
This girl was nuts!
Mia gave me a cold stare. The hairs stood on the back of my neck when I saw her eyes turn from blue to red! I quickly grabbed my cellphone.
"Sarah! Please come over here! Something's very wrong with your daughter!" I screamed into the phone.
"I know, but she's your problem now!" Sarah's voice said coldly.
Mia stared deeply into my eyes.
Without even knowing it, I walked into the kitchen, Mia followed.
I tried to stop myself, but I couldn't. My hand reached for the knife draw.
"Stop! No, STOP!" I begged.
"You wouldn't play with me, so I'm going to play with you!" Mia smiled demonically.
