Through the Eyes of Peter Pan

I fly through the night with a light at my side.

The only sound is the rush of the wind, and the faint tinkling of bells only I can understand.

Beneath me are the lights from London,

Above me are the stars, one of which I call home.

The clock strikes midnight,

It's time for me to make dreams come true.

I land on the sill, quietly so no one awakes.

With a shimmering light and a small gust of winds the window swooshes silently open.

The only sound I hear in the slow breathing of the kids in their beds.

I sneak through the window and walk around the room.

John, and Michael asleep on one side,

And Wendy the oldest on the other.

I know tonight is her last night to be kid.

And I'm going to give her the adventure every child dreams of.

A flight into space to the land where time stops and there are pirates to battle.

What fun will it be? Now, where is my shadow?

Now all three are awake.

I've got my shadow firmly in place.

All they need now is a little faith, trust, and pixie dust.

They've got good spirits and they're excited.

Off to Neverland! Here we go!

The night is done, we had lots of fun.

Us four kids and the lost boys.

They don't want to leave, but we know they can't stay.

For one I wish I could go back and grow up.

There's a bond between Wendy and me.

She'll love me till her first love comes around.

And I'll love her till my childish heart forgets.

She's got a few years, while I have forever.

Will I completely forget her? I hope never!

She'll tell my story, until her last stand.

Because her childish heart belongs in Neverland.

I fly through the night with a light at my side.

The only sound is the rush of the wind and the faint tinkling of bells only I can understand.

I'm returning now to the stars, one of which I call home.

Every child around the world will know my name.

Me, Peter Pan of Neverland!
