Hank was on his way home from hunting when he heard a loud scream echo through the woods. It sounded like someone was in severe pain. The man surveyed his surroundings, but saw nothing but trees and leaves. Another scream gave him the right direction to go. Preparing his rifle, he took off in search of the person who was screaming.

Soon, Hank found a man hunched over a bear trap. The man was trying to pry it off his bleeding ankle, but to no avail. When he saw Hank coming, he grunted for him to help.

Hank opened the steel trap enough for its victim to pull his leg out. The man gasped in relief and set his wounded foot awkwardly on the ground.

"Thanks a lot, man!" he said. "I really appreciate that."

"No problem," replied Hank. "Your ankle is in bad shape. My truck is just down this way. I'll take you to the hospital."

"Thanks again. I was heading away from this place, anyway." The man put an arm around Hank and wobbled along with him.

Some time later, a group of men with guns arrived in that area. One knelt down and examined the bloody bear trap.

"He was definitely here," he said.

"Let's go," another ordered. "He can't have gotten far. We'll find that cannibal bastard."

With that, they all left in search of the man they were looking for. Unable to check the pickup truck they saw driving off in the distance.
