The Dreamer

By daylight she walks on clouds
By night she sleeps amongst constellations
Her eyes hold the sky in their depths
Full of a hopelessness devoid of emotion

She speaks wisdom into the raindrops
Praying that they will pass it on to someone else
But she knows that it's unlikely
As everyone's priorities are themselves

She's accustomed to the loneliness
That diminishes one's sense of joy
Stuck in a never-ending story
That tosses her around like a child's toy

She'll one day find a forgotten space
That will put her out of her misery
She'll close the skies and open her eyes
And fall into what she was meant to be
