If I lit a candle for all the times you fell…

I set up a circle of candles
And I sat in the middle, staring at the wicks
It was a warm summer's eve,
When I delved myself into the cold history of our radix

I'd have a room full of candles…

When the cold winter wind came,
The candles all blew out, trapping me in a coffin
I was left in a dark room with your whispers
Invisible flames burning for absolution

And a huge fire hazard as well…

You fall like an empire
Dramatic and deathly at the same time
And like an enemy, I simply watch the fall
The candles burn the house down as I hear a clock chime

Perhaps I can bask in the light…

It's brighter than anything I've ever seen
Brighter than the candles that have given in to the inferno
I'll never sit in the middle of a circle again
It only reminds me of the love that never had room to grow

But it only reminds me of the times you fell after a fight

Fires don't last forever
My candles stayed lit because they were small and controlled
Our love would've engulfed the entire world in flames
But we both would've fell because we weren't safe in our stronghold

If I lit a candle for all the times you fell,
I'd have a room full of candles,
And a huge fire hazard as well
Perhaps I can bask in the light
But it only reminds me of the times you fell after a fight
