Hey there, I'm new to this whole writing your own story thing, I'm use to writing fanfiction so please, tell me if it's dreadful.
Chapter 1
The Man!
There I was, in the middle of a dark, cold forest with my best friend, Kodie Paige Grey. As you may have guessed, we were lost, well and truly, we had absolutely no idea where we were at that point, we had been walking around for a few hours now, it wasn't getting dark yet, it was only midday, so we had a few hours until sunset.
Oh, how rude of me, I haven't even introduced myself. My name is Maria Hannah Godwin, I am sixteen years old and I finished school three days ago. My best friend, as I mentioned earlier, is Kodie Paige Grey.
"Kodie, I think we might, possibly, be a little bit lost." I said, hesitating slightly.
"Yeah, just a little, I knew we shouldn't have come in here with the guys, they always get us into some kind of trouble!" Kodie said, frustrated, stopping where she was to turn and talk to me properly.
"Yeah, come to think of it, they do, when I get my hands on those guys, I'm going to kill them!" I told her, well, almost shouted at her really.
"Now, now, Maria, calm down, save one of them for me, I want to have the satisfaction of killing one of them too."
Suddenly, I heard a crack and some leaves rustle behind us.
"What was that?" Kodie asked me, she always was a little paranoid.
"I don't know, but whatever it was, I think it's gone, it was probably just an animal" I said to her trying to be as reassuring as I could, but, to be honest, I think I was still trying to convince myself.
"Good" she sighed. But then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure running through the trees, watching us.
"Okay, now that was creepy!" I exclaimed
"Maria, I don't think we're alone here" Kodie whispered to me, moving closer and clinging to my arm.
"Me either Kode, There we aren't alone, I could swear I saw someone over there" I told her. Then the man started to clap from behind the tree and he emerged from behind it.
"Well done ladies, you caught me and now, you will pay!" The man dressed in all black shouted as he started to run towards us. Kodie and I sank to the floor, but then, a huge dome of light burst out, protecting us from everything. The man ran off into the trees, startled by the great barrier of light that appeared out of nowhere.
"Oh my god, Kodie, what just happened?" I shouted, standing back up.
"I have no idea." She replied "Come on, lets go find the guys" she continued.
Around twenty minutes later, we found them, heading towards the edge of the forest.
"You wouldn't believe what just happened to us!" Kodie and I said to them at the same time.
When we finally got back to my house, we headed straight up to my bedroom, my parents were still at work so it was okay for us to do that.
"Okay, so, you both want to start telling is what happened in there?" Paul* asked after sitting down on my bedroom floor.
"Yeah, go on, tell us, we're anxious to find out what spectacular events occurred in that forest!" Mark said to us, his sarcasm clear. We explained the whole story clearly, though, we may have gone a little crazy with the hand gestures and almost hit the guys a few times which may have scarred them both a slight bit, but, oh well, I don't care and I don't think Kodie does either to be honest.
"Okay, so basically some weird creepy guy followed you about then tried to kill you, until something created a barrier of light to protect you, wow, intense." Mark said, making our long story shorter and seem much more simple and less dramatic.
"Basically, yes, but our version is so much better and makes a better story to tell people, your version makes it seen kind of dull." Kodie stated matter-of-factly.
"Well, you're both all right, that's what matters." Paul said to us, putting his arm around my shoulder.
"Actually, I'm not all right." I said as a soft pink blush colouring my cheeks
"I'm half left too you know" I continued, laughing at Paul's facial expression. The four of us burst into fits of laughter which continued until our faces were streaked with tears and our stomachs hurt from laughing too hard. None of us noticed that my older brother Peter* had arrived home from work.
"What's so funny?" Peter asked me.
"Paul is!" I replied wiping the tears from my eyes and thanking Kodie for making not put mascara on this morning before we went out.
"Ah, fair enough then, well, I'll see you later Maria, I'm going back out, need to pick cousin Charlie up from the airport." Peter sighed, rolling his eyes.
"okay, say hi to Charlie for me!" I shouted down the stairs to him as he made his way down them towards the door. Peter simply raised his hand to me to say okay and goodbye.
"Well, your brother stayed long didn't he? Oh well! Mark sighed, with a hint of sarcasm to flavour his comment.
"He never does stay long to be fair, sometimes I wonder about that man." I replied to him, sighing before sitting back down next to Paul.
"I think we all do, Maria... So, what we going to do now?" Paul asked us all.
"There's nothing to do around here. Oh, by the way, Maria, remember, we need to go shopping later, we have that welcome home party for your cousin!" Kodie said, enthusiastically, she loves parties, that's why I invited her to my cousins welcome home party. It's in two days and we still need to go shopping.
"Yeah, we do, the party is in TWO DAYS!" Kodie shouted at me
"Yeah, when we going shopping?" I asked.
"Either today or tomorrow." Kodie answered.
"Well, we'll leave you girls to it, we're going out with some guys now anyway, you two go shopping for shoes or whatever it is that you need, come on Mark." Paul sighed, as if taking the hint that we needed to leave them.
*I couldn't think of any modern guys names, so I just though of the guys I know and two of my many brothers sprung to mind.
