They Chose To Fall

Summary: No one would believe her. They all thought she was insane. Until that one day that everything changed. When they all asked for her help, she refused. No one would have believed that their world was being taken over by the living dead.

They Thought She Was Insane

"I-I-I saw it!"

"You saw what?"

"Calm down! What happened?"

"He ripped off her face with his teeth."

No One Would Believe Her

"You just saw things"

"No, I swear. It was horrible."

"There's no way someone could do that."

"He did! There…there was so much blood."

But She Wasn't Lying

I sat in my room, thinking about what happened.

Flashes of all the blood filled my mind.

He ate her face like a steak.

I feel like I'm going to puke.

They Put Her in a Mental Hospital

I sat in the corner of the room on the edge of the bed.

Why didn't anyone believe me?

I would never lie about something like that.

I'm not insane.

That's When It Started

I heard the screams first thing in the morning.

Their cries for help seeped through the cracks under the door.

The muscles in my whole body tightened.

Fear was trying to drill a hole through my chest.

She Might've Made It out Alive…

I walked out of the silent hospital in cotton gray sweat pants and a white baggy shirt.

Everything was still.

Cars had crashed into one another and things were on fire.

There wasn't a soul in sight.

A person walked out from behind a car.

They didn't look human.

They charged.

I didn't hesitate to run.

But The Fight to Stay Alive

I held my breath as the zombie limped by.

It stopped next to my hiding spot and lifted it nose into the air, as if smelling something.

My body went rigged and I felt the blood draining from my face.

It walked away with a few groans.

I didn't let out a heavy breath until I knew it was gone.

Has Only Just Begun.

There were at least a dozen of them blocking my only exit.

Unexpectedly, one of them walked right into my path.

I was so frightened that I stumbled back and into something.

I opened my mouth to let out a silent scream.

I was done for.
