Chapter one

"Dammit, I'm late again, thanks for reminding me Brian." I said sarcastically

"Sorry, I guess I forgot." He said.

"Well no shit Sherlock." I replied.

I rush into my room, and change in to something a little better than a tank top and sweats. I quickly put my hair into a bun, and rush out the door. I run down the street to Mr. Mumford's office where he is standing by his desk. He looks really mad.

"You're late again Isabel." He said with his arms crossed over his chest.

"I am so sorry Mr. Mumford, it won't happen again."

"It better not, you know I hate waiting." He said in a stern tone.

"Yes sir." I said with my head down.

Once my meeting with Mr. Mumford ended, I headed back home. When got there, Brian was sitting on the couch playing on the X-Box. As I walked by, I slapped him on the back of the head. He looked at me with an annoyed expression on his face. I walked into my room and fell on my bed and stared at the fan, about an hour later Brian came into my room and told me that someone was on the phone for me. I got up, and went into the living room, and picked up the phone.

"Hello." I said.

"Isabel, come down to the lake now I need to talk to you, it's important, hurry."

"Wait Anna, what's going on, what happened?"

"It's hard to explain, just hurry!" she said quickly.

"Ok, I'm on my way."

I ran out the front door, and down to the lake, and looked for Anna. I ended up running around to the other side of the lake before I saw her. I ran up to her.

"Anna, what's going on?" I said

"Look." She said.

I looked into the water, and I saw something green glowing.

"What is that?" I asked.

I walked into the water and went underneath. I opened my eyes, and I saw it there, just floating, doing nothing else. I reached out my arm, and as soon as I touched it, there was a flash of light shot out of it into my face. I opened my eyes, and I was in a white room with one window at least twenty feet high. I looked around, and there was one door. I opened the door and I couldn't believe my eyes. When I opened the door, I was outside; I saw a building that looked like a castle. There where kids coming n and out with backpacks, so I assumed it's a school. There some other things weird with this place. There where pink, orange, and white clouds on the ground. I took a step out, expecting to fall through the clouds I poked it with the tip of my shoe to make sure it was safe, and it was. I stepped out, and headed towards the school, on my way I stopped to ask.

"What is this place?" I asked a man.

"You must have come from there." He said pointing towards the white building I came from. "Go into the school, and ask for Chyros."

"Ok, thanks." I said

I walked up to the school, and went inside. It was beautiful; there were two spiral stair cases on either side of the large marble desk in the front. I walked up to the desk.

"I'm here to see Chyros." I said to the woman at the desk

"Up the stairs down the hall, eighteenth door on you're right his door is green." She responded.

"Thank you ma'am." I said back.

I went upstairs and found his door. I knocked quietly three times.

"Come in." I heard him say through the door.

I walked into the office slowly shutting the door behind me. I turned around and my eyes instantly widened.

"You're a-a-a centaur." I stuttered.

"Hello, you must be Isabel. I'm Chyros." He said.

"Hi, how do you know my name?" I asked

"I'll explain later. Now I have a job for you."

"What kind of job?" I asked.

"I need you to find your mother. "He said.

"But I know where my mother is, she's at work. "I said in a confused tone.

"I mean you're real mother." He said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Go back to the room you came in. You'll figure out what to do from there." He said to me.

I went back to the white room, and stepped inside, there was another flash of light and when I opened my eyes, I was under water again. I resurfaced, and Anna was there sitting on the ground waiting for me. She must have heard me, and she turned around and looked at me. She looked confused, she wasn't looking at me anymore, she was looking behind me. I turned around, and the green light was up in the air. It got closer to my chest until it disappeared into my chest. While I walked home, I thought about what he said. If any of it had really happened, I could have been under water for too long, passed out and imagined the whole thing. But it seemed real. I still don't know what that place is, that man never answered my question.

"What is going on? Am I going crazy or something?" I thought to myself.

When I got home Brian was still laying on the couch playing video games.

"Why are you wet?" he asked.

I glared at him, and went to my room.
