The cold black pavement

Shows a path of life,

Heading towards destruction.

What anticipation they had.

Ideas of silver buildings,

Robots and technology.

But these ideas never became reality.

War consumed the helpless,

Destroying those who have done nothing

But be victims

To men's uncontrollable greed.

A childs innocence lost,

Now they hold a gun,

And belong to no one.

If we could go back,

And change decisions made,

The sky would still be blue,

The grass would still be green.

I wouldn't be afraid of darkness,

I would embrace the sun's warm rays.
