Reeds

Long and green shining in the light

Catching every ray of sun

Twisting and twirling back and forth

The reeds stand tall in the water

Little fish flitter through the reeds

Avoiding the hooks and sinker

That man has thrown in the water

Wishing and praying for a catch

Dark hulls slide across the long reeds

Casting shadows over the fish

Nastily breaking the tall reeds

As they push towards the dark shore

Boats push off as the sun rises

Leaving the reeds to sway gently

Repairing the damage caused

In the small bay under full sun
