Ronnie blew a strand of blonde hair out of her face as she walked down the empty halls of the junior high school. No one was barely there today, minus a few teachers here and there. The only reason she was there was because of the massive library at the school, and she was a major bookworm.
Her footsteps seemed unbearably loud as she walked down the hallway. She eventually reached the library's door. Ronnie fingered the door handle for a few seconds, and then flung it open.
What she saw next she certaintly didn't expect.
A light brunnette hair boy was running his hand lightly through his hair. He was sitting at one of the library tables. He had a pen in his mouth while his hand was working furiously on paper. An evident blush appeared on Ronnie's face, and it was quite obvious that she had a major crush on him for a while now.
"M-miles?" She questioned out loud. The brunette immediately glanced up from his work and grinned at her.
"Oh, hey Ronnie." He greeted cheerfully. He patted the chair next to him. "Come, sit." A smiled spread across Ronnie's face as she walked over and sat down next to him.
She glanced at his creation at the table and gasped. A beautiful girl was staring back at her.
"Who's this?" She questioned quietly. A slight blush flittered across Mile's face.
"...ju-just this girl who is so beautiful inside and out. I haven't had the guts to tell her yet."
Ronnie's heart plummeted to her stomach. She wanted to scream in disbelief, but instead she swallowed.
"Oh... I- I- I have to g-" An unwilling tear slipped down her face, and she hurriedly wiped it off.
Ronnie ran out of the library before any more tears could spill in front of him. She didn't hear him call her name as she ran faster and faster down the hallway. Down half the stairs she went, but sobs prevented her from going any farther. She slid down the wall of the landing and began to sob quietly.
Miles skidded to a stop at the top of the stairs and cringed when he saw Ronnie in tears. It was his fault, not telling her that the picture he drew was of her, his beautiful angel. His white sneakers stepped down each step until he reached Ronnie.
"Ronnie...?" He asked cautiously, sitting down next to her. The only reply was her sobbing, so he wrapped an arm around her.
"Shhhh...it's okay Ron-" Before he knew it she was sobbing into his chest. His heart hammered at the touch. Miles wrapped his arms around her and began to massage her back gently in hopes of ceasing the sobs.
Eventually the sobs turned to hiccups, and Ronnie breathed in heavily. A heavy blush was on her face as she inhaled his smell, his special smell, and looked up at him.
"I- I..." She started to stammer. There was no need for words at that moment. Mile's eyes twinkled as he picked up her hand, and without a single noise, kissed it.
Ronnie blushed and opened her mouth to say something. His soft lips flew from her hand to her ear, where he whispered softly:
"You were the beautiful angel I was drawing." A lone tear ran her face in utter disbelief. He kissed the falling tear, and touch of his lips against her face caused her to shudder in pleasure. But the next moment was pure bliss as he moved to her mouth and kissed her gently.
A small gasp escaped from her mouth, but she didn't complain as she let herself melt sweetly into the kiss. It was brief, but it was enough to have both teenagers have huge grins on their faces.
"Did that cheer you up?" asked Miles awkwardly, shifting his eyes away from her. Ronnie bit her lip. With a bit of hesitation, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.
"...yes. Yes it did." stated Ronnie as she cautiously put her hand on Mile's. He squeezed it and smiled, and the two leaned in once more.
