I watch the sea, it ebbs and flows
White on green, the water foams
I'll inspect it closely and expose
A tiny child the current throws
Small hands grasp, fingers froze
Slipping down, for her, time slows
Years since the child sank below
I look to the only one that knows;
The tide will come and it will go
Like love and life, the sea will flow
And take away with it my soul
I watch the sea, it ebbs and flows
White on green, the water foams
And somewhere further, deep below
My daughter's body the sea now owns
Yet I find comfort because I know
It owns you not, my dearest rose.
