AGAINST THE CURRENTS

Thrashing,

Against an eternal ebb and flow

A guppy,

Beats wild fins,

Away from the unknown.

A school,

Disappears,

Through a meandering maze of bends,

But a guppy,

Follows not,

For where does the current end?

A silver glint,

From moonlit scales,

That glitters through fleeting movements tells,

The frustration,

That a frightened guppy claims,

Go where currents demand?

Or go back from whence he came?
