Bridge

I hear the boards creek as every step makes me wish I was in another dream.

Broken rails make my heart race as every step I take brings me closer to my fate.

I hear the voices in the forest call my name as if I knew them from far away days.

Bright yellow lights try to guide, but blind my weary eyes as my feet slip into a new state.

Red flashes as my bones start to break, if only I hadn't made such a costly mistake.

When I awake I'm tied to an oddly warped stake and the bridge no longer faces the hate.

I still can move but not own my own, the darken shadows have become my new home.

Memories flash as my mind leaves quite fast, a swinging old key telling me to hold on to the past.

I untied the rope letting go of what I knew, clearly all I needed was an unfamiliar clue.

I looked at the bridge to see what it knew; it told me the answer was easier then tying my shoe.

"Walk across now that you have learned, Falling isn't easy for you will burn."

Confused I traveled across the bridge, wondering what he thought I did.

I hear the boards creek as every step makes me wish I was in another dream.

Only this time I think I may actually be free.
