A/N: As promised, here's the next one-shot. Enjoy.

"Carla? Is that you?" I said in disbelief.

It was over two decades ago when I last saw my best friend - in the August of 1994. It was now 2014.

"Faye?" She said, looking at me.

I hugged her, delighted to see her again.

"It's been so long." Carla said, tears in her eyes.

My own eyes watering, I answered, "Yeah, it has. We should talk."

We wandered through the park, towards a bench overlooking the large lake.

She had hot married to a nice Chinese bloke called something I can't pronounce and they'd had two kids.

She showed me pictures of them.

"Awww…" I cooed over the large-eyed, innocent children.

"What've you been up to in the past twenty years?" She asked.

"Well, I'm living with this guy and I'm sure he's going to propose any day now." I gushed.

"Wow! Did you ever travel the world?"

"Well, I went to Thailand and Japan, but that's all I could afford, so I haven't got any further I'm afraid."

Carla looked at her phone and jumped up."Sorry Faye. I've got to go. This has been good. We should do this again sometime." She said, before giving me her mobile number and rushing off.

I sat in the midday sun and thought about how nice it had been to see Carla again.

A/N: Reviews are the only payment I receive. This short two-shot came about after I thought about my best friend in junior school and how we drifted apart.
