Day 1:

"Jesus Christ! Someone help! The teachers… they're eating each other!" Someone down the hall yelled.

"What the hell?" Bryan whispered under his breath.

"I told you all this would happen! I tried to warn you! ZOMPOCALYPSE!" Freddie Swanson yelled to the class.

"Zompocalypse?" I asked.

Freddie spun to me. "That's right, Chloe. Zom-pocalypse. Zombie. Apocalypse. They're already taking over," he put his hands on my shoulders and shook me slightly. "Don't you see?!"

"Get away from her, man." Bryan said, standing from his desk.

"NO! You don't get it… you'll never get it… you're going to die."

Bryan shoved Freddie away from me. "Are you ok? Don't listen to him, he's nuts." He said.

I nodded.

"You won't be able to ignore me for long… you'll need me." Freddie muttered, rubbing his arm.

The door opened. Everything was quiet as Ms. Ponem walked in. Kate Clinington walked up to her, "Ms. Ponem, what's going on? I heard-"

Kate cut off as Ms. Ponem leaned forward and sank her teeth into her shoulder. Kate screamed and fell to the ground. She continued screaming and sobbing for about twenty seconds and then she went limp.

The class erupted into chaos.

"What. The. Hell!?" Abby Jenkins shrieked.

"Did she faint?" I wondered aloud.

Freddie turned to me. "No you idiot! She's dead! She's a zombie."

"No she's not. It's scientifically illogical." I whispered, looking down at my hands. I'm dreaming. I have to be.

"Chloe…" I looked up at Bryan. "I think the nerds right."

"But you know that-"

"Chloe! Have you looked outside yet?" Bryan asked, fear and anger flashing in his eyes. "Just look."

I turned slowly away from him to look out the window.

There were hundreds of corpses on the ground, and some walking around. I saw Amy from history class being attacked by my former classmates. Her blood-curdling screams echoed around the campus.

I looked away from her and looked towards the cafeteria across from our classroom. The tenth-graders were having lunch. Today's menu: everyone around you. It was total chaos. I turned back to Bryan.

"This is a dream. It has to be." I said almost hysterically.

"Damn it Chloe! You're not asleep!" He said and slapped me.

I yelped and gingerly put my hand to my face. "Bryan…"

"We need to get out of here." He said compellingly.

"This just can't be real." I whispered.

Kate suddenly stood and looked over the class with blood-thirsty eyes.

"No one… make… a sound." Freddie whispered.
