Nay, I Have Peace
Philippians 4:7

I shake my fist at worry and fret!

Waves of dark doubt may roll like the sea
The sin of mankind fester like a disease
May the blaring of curses ring loud in my ear!
Shall it shake me?
Nay, I have peace.

Satan may strike with dreams of my past
An ocean of fear may stand murky and vast
May the storms of this life plainly billow in view!
Shall it shake me?
Nay, I have peace.

Family may leave me as friends flee away
Lose life, love, or limb with pain or dismay
May the bitterest taste of death touch my tongue!
Shall it shake me?
Nay, I have peace.

Demons may race about at my feet
Hearts may melt in this world's fretful heat
May smoke fill my nostrils from my burning estate!
Shall it shake me?
Nay, I have peace.

This terrestrial globe may plunge in despair
Should all other souls be consumed with its cares
May the sorrows of life pierce every nerve that I have!
Shall it shake me?
Nay, I have peace.

I shake my fist at worry and fret!
They shall not shake me!
I have peace.
