Only For The Weekend

Stand and wait
Until the tail lights are gone,
And the signal falls
To danger,
As your love speeds away from you,
And you are alone
In the cold.
Chasing,
Running
The platform's length.

She laughs and smiles
Behind the glass,
Trying to remind me she won't be gone
Forever.
"It's only for the weekend,"
She mouths at me,
"I'll be back soon."

She's going to see the fireworks.
She's going home.
"But I'll be back for you,"
She says,
"I'll be coming back to you."
