Come dear children there's a story to tell

Of a man who lied till his tongue did fell

He lied to his sons

He lied to his daughters

And even to the good ol' wife of the father

He lied to his mum

And to his pa

And finally his wife had enough of it all

She went to the butcher

And bought some tough meat

Cooked it for diner

With a side of beets

And chew and chew and chew as he may

Never could he get it down in one day

He chewed so much

He ate his own tongue

And now there is not a lie sung
