Water dapples the forest canopy

As creek breaks to flow around mossy stones

Leaves its light dancing on the tall oak tree

It makes me feel as if I have come home

Icy col water gushes over rocks

Fresh new blades of sweet green grass stretch toward sun

The whispering brook sounds as though it mocks

Its song calls me to leap and climb and run

I feel much wilder than any wild thing

This forest is home if only in heart

Here no one sees me if I dance or sing

Though it is the end, it feels like the start

I may never come back here, as it seems

But I shall return, if only in dreams
