A Dark Heart Torn
The distant path ahead seemingly endless. Hope springs from your feet as you are guided down your path in life. Trip and fall the rocks scour your arms and knees. Glistening wet scattered across the stones. You've left your mark again on your path. Life leaves its scar as you travel. You lay and recover, easier to stay in the dirt. Maybe no one saw, if I stay down no one will notice. I won't have to worry about falling again and picking myself up. The hurt stings, yet fades as the mind recovers. Time, time it will heal it. The air stings against your open wounds. Your heart open and exposed as the rain pummels like stinging salt down to your soul. Deep down beneath the hurt your resolve grows, and silently speaks to you as to let you know. One day this dark torn heart will once beat whole.
