When I Happened Upon The Lies

It was purely by chance.
Whether that chance was
Happy or unhappy,
I do not know.
Perhaps it is both.
Perhaps it is neither,
And is only chance itself.
But I happened upon the lies.
Stumbled upon them
As one would stumble through fog.
By luck, and by chance,
I found them.
I found them
When I wasn't looking.
When I didn't expect to see
Any counter to my belief.

But there they stood,
Clear as day.

And the veil of fog
And showed me flames.
For the lies, the selfish lies,
Were the spark
To my tinder.
And in that moment
All was condemned,
And damned to Rage.

All would burn.
