Only two weeks into the New Year had passed and Tim had already broken his first resolution: Don't kill anyone. Write this scene.
I stare at the blood on my hands and hear the sirens wailing in the distance, yet the only thing i can think is 'damn, I broke my new year's resolution. Dianna is gonna be so pissed'.
I tried to sneak into the house to wash my hands before she saw me, but I was never that lucky.
"Where have you been?" she demanded from the door way. I half turned and saw that she had her hands on her hips and had the cute little frown on her face. We both knew what I had done, but we also both knew that I would try to lie my way out of it.
My hands were in the sink, and they were covered in soap, the water running down to the base to drain out of the sink, taking the soap and blood with it.
"I've been out."
She sighed and walked over to me. She wrapped her arms around me from behind me. I kept rubbing my hands together to get the rest of the blood off, before she saw how much there was.
"I thought that you were going to stop this." She said in a whiny voice, her voice muffled by my shirt.
"I was, but he was right there and he said something, and I reacted, I just had to, I'm sorry."
"You have to stop this, they're going to catch on soon, and Jeff isn't going to be able to cover you for much longer, you know that he's already under observation and investigation."
"I know, but I was careful this time."
"How close was it?"
"I could hear them, but they weren't there yet."
"Where was it?"
"By the grass alley at the park."
"I'll be back soon."
She squeezed my mid section and left. I smiled after her and turned off the water. I wiped my hands on the towel and dropped it into the fire bucket.
I walked through the house and ended up at my laptop. I opened it up and started to write, recount the kill. Dianna will add to it when she gets home.
When I finish I smile. I know that she will be home soon and I am eager to hear how things went. I hope that she got there before the police did and was able to find out what happened.
As I had many times last year I sat in the basement after writing my report and waiting for Dianna to get back.
I don't know how long I sat there, but I didn't move until Dianna came up behind me and put her hands on my shoulders.
"All good. The body has gone."
"How?" I asked quietly.
"Strangled, but you ended the suffering short, with a blade, that's how the blood got onto your hands."
"Not the best kill."
"No," she agreed, "But not the worst."
"That is one thing to be thankful for."
"Now, off to bed. We have two weeks of trolling radios, internet sites and government communications to make sure that things keep under wraps."
"Oh, fun." I said sarcastically.
"And during that time you will be sleeping in the spare bed room."
I groaned, she hadn't forgotten the promise I made if I broke this resolution.
I could feel her grinning as she walked up to the main part of the house. This was going to be a long two weeks.
A/N: So I'm off school and will be writing and updating more now. This was just a way of trying to get through the writer's block I've been having for starting to write. Can you also vote in my poll on which story I will try to write because I will work on one of them at a time. I think I've covered all the points I wanted to cover, just one more thing. Should I make this longer or leave it as is?
