ஜ۩۞۩ஜ A Day in the Life of the Islanders Part 2 ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
Inside of the house it's self was a mud room. The trio slid off their shoes and walked into the real house, it was inside the cliff. The place was huge and the entrée was no different. It was a large ballroom with a grand stair case demanding most of the attention. Around the foot of the stairs was a raised platform and to one side on that platform was a piano. Hidden in one corner of the room was a small spiral staircase made an able to get in and out of the house fast.
To another side of the room was a sitting area with big puffy chairs and couch. There were of course bookcases decoratively place along the walls. The rugs on the stairs, platform, and sitting areas, were old Victorian styled and went with the dark wooden floors. The three went to the small spiral stair case and hurried up it. The stairs lead to the kitchen, they went out the door and into the dining room. Then out the next door into the hallway. Doors lined the left wall, on the right there were only two grand looking doors, one at each end. The boys went threw the door closest to them, Lilly followed the best she could. She lost track of where they were, but the twins seemed to know just where to go.
They soon stopped in a room with a large window wall. It over looked the rest of the island behind the mountain and the sea. On the one wall behind them was the door they just came through. The left door went to Austin's room and the right Justin's. Lilly sat on the couch and watched the sun rising over the horizon. Not but a few minutes later the twins were ready for school.
The school uniforms weren't to bad. Lilly wore hers easily enough, a white button down shirt and knee-length skirt, color of your choice, hers was of course pink, and leggings under leggings were black, more for riding than style. Her shoes were pink Mary Jane. The boy's uniform was a long sleeve button down shirt and slacks in brown, black, or grey. Austin and Justin both wore black ones. Their shoes were both black western style boots.
Lilly shook her head with a sigh. Before she could protest Austin grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her out the door and back into the maze of hallways and rooms. With in a couple of minutes they had made it back to the kitchen and flew down the stairs and out the front door. While waiting for the children the horses had cooled and re hydrated.
They trotted through the forest and cantered the underwater bridge. On the main island they started north to the Heavens Islet. The bridge to this island was like the one to Ember island. This island was mostly grassland and home to a horse heard of over 1000 none were of a particular breed. Most of them were wild. Along the coast was a giant stone castle that served as the school.
It was the home of all the Elementals and the Bounded but the Wind Elemental; Madelyn Sky Song, made it into a school. Why? She didn't have a real job on any of the island and wanted something that she could say she did. School for the children here wasn't much different from school anywhere else. Sitting in classrooms and listening to the teacher talk, taking notes, test, and classwork.
Around four O' clock they finally got to leave. Madelyn strolled through the groups of children and to a cliff nearby, then jumped. Most ran to the edge of the cliff and watched, but for the children of the Elementals they knew what she was doing. Sure enough only a moment later a large eagle soared up and circled the towers of the school then flew off to the main island.
Since none of them could change shape yet, Austin, Justin, and Lilly all mounted up and ready to leave. Sophia Emerald Stone rode up to them on her female Palomino Haflinger Horse called Clover. Sophia was of native american descent and had bright green eyes. Her mother Grace Oak Stone was the healer and the Earth Elemental. There was no kinder or gentler woman or girl on the islands. Sophia was shy and reserved at school most of the time, and at home she was always working with Grace on patients. Speaking to anyone out the hospital on the southern earth island, Isle Quarry. So the trio gained great surprise when she spoke to them.
"Good afternoon." She said just loud enough for them to hear. "I wanted..." she stopped and looked away. Austin leaned in his saddle to look at her face. "Yes?" She met his eye and said a little to loudly "I wanted to go on your adventure with you!" The three looked at her blankly "Adventure?" She turned back to them "Well yes, you three always go off and have amazing adventures after school and on the weekends. Right?" Lilly shook her head, "No, we get into trouble all the time. Adventure is not a good way to describe it." She scowled at the twins "Right?"
The boys seemed to mirror each other as they leaned back in their saddles and looked away from Lilly's glaring eyes. "Well..." They even spoke at the same time. Justin smiled slightly "Since tomorrow is Saturday..." Austin copied his twins smile "and you seem so eager to explore..." Simultaneously they leaned towards Sophia "We might know of some secret underground tunnels. The entrée hidden below the town hall on Psyche Island." Psyche Island being the main island. As one they offered her one of their hands, "Still interested?"
She looked surprised "Your saying, you'll take me, a daughter of Earth, to the underground tunnels." The twins nodded still each offering a hand. Sophia groaned "I thought you just did stuff like chasing wild horses through the villages, or set Madam Water's cloak on fire. This it like a real adventure, something you see in the movies. What ere you planing to do down there?" Justin pulled out a folded map of the islands. "We are going to mark the tunnels on this map so we can use them to our advantage later on." Austin puffed up his chest a little, "Took us ten years to finish that map. It has every place we have ever been on it. Even the inside of most of the buildings." Sophia took the map an d opened it.
Folded it was the size of a notebook, but opened up the size of a stove top before she stopped. "How big is this?" Austin and Justin had to think about it for a moment before looking at Lilly for help. She thought about it then said, "Well the frame back at the Sanctuary on Ember is fifteen by twenty feet and it goes right to the edges so that seems the right size." Austin grinned and turned back to Sophia, "There you go. Twenty by fifteen feet to fit all five islands. We have six copies of this map all of them the same size at each of our hideouts and the one we carry with us."
Sophia refolded the map and handed it back to the dark-haired twin. "All right, where should I meet you at?"
