A/N: This was written for my best guy friend. No, I don't like him, and it is a love poem but not in the conventional sense. He's been my best friend for so long, he is a brother in all but blood to me. So, in a way, I do love him, but not romantically, if that makes any sense. Anyways, I felt for a time as if there was a secret he was keeping from me, resulting in this poem. Enjoy and Review!

My Best Friend

I'm not sure if you know it,

And I don't know how to say it,

But I'll give it a shot, give it a go,

Put my heart on the line,

Just so you know.

You meant the world to me,

Which I find hard to deny.

I hope you know deep inside,

I'll trust in you 'til I die.

You're my best friend,

Having known you for a while,

And you're always there,

No matter what,

Until the end do we part.

I'm not sure if you know it,

And I don't know how to say it,

But I'd trust you with my life,

And I hope you can do the same.

You've been there through the ups,

Stuck by me through the downs,

Comforted me in my sorrow,

And defended me from the crowds.

There really is no rhyme to this poem,

No apparent reason to be found.

It has one purpose and one alone,

And that's just to let you know:

You can trust in me.

There is no reason to hide:

I wouldn't run away,

I wouldn't deny you.

In fact, I'd take a bullet for you,

'cuz that's just what best friends do.
