Chapter 1: The Threat

The sun rose over the horizon, illuminating the sapphire blue sky. The light shined over the hills, on the buildings and through the streets of Pride City. On the top floor of the largest tower in the city a man sat in a large office.

The man was 6 feet tall, broad-shouldered and had a defined muscular build. He had a strong pronouncing jaw, high cheekbones, almond-shaped hazel eyes and slik, black hair that was neatly combed back. He wore a black pinstripped over a red, buttoned shirt, a black tie and shiny black shoes.

The man sat behind a large wooden desk, on the the desk were papers, a cup that contained pens, pencils, rulers and a pair of scissors, a cup of coffee and a computor. The Man grabbed his cup of coffee and took a sip before a boy burst into the room and came running over to the desk.

The boy was 4 ft 9, he had a scrawny build and a lean figure. He had a strong jaw, high cheekbones, almond-shaped electric blue eyes and slik, black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers. The man smiled once he saw the boy and set his coffee back on the desk.

He sat up from his black leather chair and approached the boy. Once the boy got close he jumped into the man's arms and the two shared an embrace. The boy broke the hug and looked up at the man.

"Hey Dad!" he greeted, the man chuckled

"Good morning Jason." he replied, a woman then stepped into the room. She was 5 ft 8, had a nicely curved body and smooth skin. She had silky black hair that ended just above the middle of her back, sharp electric blue eyes, plump red lips and she was wearing a black, buttoned shirt, a black skirt and black high heels. The woman smiled warmly at the man.

"Good morning Robert." she greeted, Robert looked up a the woman. He smiled at her, set his son down and approached her.

The two shared of them shared a kiss much to Jason's disgust and they broke it 5 seconds later. Robert stared into his wife's eyes and said "Good Morning to you too Martha."

Jason ran up to his parents and started jumping around excitedly, which caught their attention.

"Dad, Dad come on! The movie's gonna start any minute!" said Jason impatiently

"Jason the movie doesn't start for another 20 minutes." replied Robert

"Yeah but if we leave now we can beat the traffic." Robert sighed with defeat

"Alright, just let me finish a few things and we'll go."

"Okay."

Robert returned to his desk, signed a few papers and filed them. Just then a man burst into the room. He was a tall man, approximately 6 ft 2, broad-shoulder and was built up like a body builder. He had a wide face, a strong jaw, high cheekbones and a flat nose. There was no hair otop his head and he wore spectacles over his piercing brown eyes. He wore a black buisness suite and he was holding a folder in his left hand.

The large man approached Robert and they could all tell he was angry about something, he slammed the folder on the desk and glared at Robert.

"What's wrong Xavier?" asked Robert

"Robert, how could you deny selling the hover jets and the armoured cars to the military?!" exclaimed Xavier, Robert let out a sigh.

"Xavier, we been over this. They were not designed for warfare, the hover jets were designed to deliver precious cargo to poor countries and the armoured cars are supposed to make sure people are safe in case of car accidents." explained Robert

"But the military is offering over £15,000! if this was my company-"

"It's not Xavier!" said Robert cutting him off "This is my company, and soon Jason will inherit it from me just as I inherited it from my father who inherited it from his." Xavier growled and grabbed the folder off of Robert's desk. He then extended his left arm and pointed his index finger at him.

"You'll regret this." threatned Xavier

"Goodbye Xavier." Robert said sternly, Xavier turned around and stormed out of the office. Robert's expression softened and he turned his gaze to his wife and son.

"Now let's go." he said, Robert approached the coat hanger next to the office door and took his black overcoat off it. He put it on and then he, his wife and son exited the office.

They approached the elevator at the end of the hallway and stepped inside. Robert pressed the button that would take them to the bottom floor, the elevator descended and after a few minutes they heard a Ding Dong sound and the elevator opened revealing the reception area and the exit 5 feet opposite them.

Robert, Martha and Jason walked through the reception area and exited the building. Their black limousine waited for them and their driver/butler stood at the back of the limousine holding the door open. He was an elderly man with a lean figure, a scrawny yet frail build. He had squinty brown eyes, a crooked nose and stringy grey hair. He was wearing a black chauffeur outfit and white, leather gloves.

The family approached the limousine and climbed into the backseats while the driver got into the driver's seat.

"Where to Master Robert?" he asked, he spoke with a posh, british accent.

"The movies Bernard." replied Robert

"Understood." Bernard then turned on the engine and drove the limousine down the street. Meanwhile Xavier glared through a window on the 27th floor.

"It's clear you can't run this company properly Robert. Look's like I'm gonna have take over myself, and there's only one way to do that."
