Those eyes. That face. That voice. As Alix drove home from work, he just couldn't forget Renee. He was sure she was the woman from all those years ago. If only he had said something to her last night. Of course, there was a good chance that she didn't remember him.

He glanced at the clock, and saw that it was five o'clock. He smiled at the thought of his son hugging him as soon as he got home. But his smile faded when he thought back to a few days ago.

Alix sighed as he unlocked the front door. He loosened his tie before stepping inside. All he wanted to do was relax in his office, and maybe work on finishing his latest novel. Upon entering the living room, he found Jason sitting on the couch with his security blanket wrapped around him, his eyes dull. "Jason? What's wrong?"

"Umm, nothing."

"Are you sure? You look like something made you upset" Alix said as he sat next to the young half-vampire.

"I'm fine, Daddy; Please don't worry about me."

Alix looked at his fourteen year old son, his eyebrows upturned. "I don't think I'd be a very good daddy if I didn't worry about my baby boy. Now, why don't you tell me what's bothering you?"

Jason turned his head away. "I'm just really tired. That's all."

Alix ran a hand through his black ponytail. "If you say so, then", Alix said.

Alix knew that if it was something really bad, Jason would tell him. But even so, Alix knew that his son was more than just tired.

Jason grinned as he nuzzled Hikaru's neck. The two boys were cuddling on Jason's bed, watching an old sci-fi anime on tv. Hikaru embraced the younger boy with his strong arms and placed a gentle kiss on the top of his head before tickling his stomach lightly. Jason giggled in responce.

"My cute wittle snuggle bunny", Hikaru cooed.

"Snuggle bunny?" Jason asked, still smiling.

"Yeah. Somebody as adorable as you deserves an adorable nickname."

Jason kissed the taller boy on his soft lips. "I love you so much."

"I love you too."

Jason closed his eyes. He felt so safe. Not just because of Hikaru, but also thanks to his room. The walls of his bedroom were a soft lavender color, providing a nice contrast to the ivory carpet. His bed was surrounded by many stuffed animals and dolls, as well as quite a few other beloved toys of his. His shelves were home to an abundance of novels, coloring books and DVDs. Jason had always thought of this room as his safe place, his own little bubble where he was protected from all the cruelties of the world. Plus, he couldn't help but feel secure when he was zipped up in his footie pajamas.

As a spaceship exploded on the television screen, both boys felt their eyelids growing heavier. Jason rested his head on Hikaru's chest, and soon fell into a deep slumber.

Hikaru's eyes didn't stay open for much longer either. "Sweet dreams, snuggle bunny", he yawned.

"Hikaru", a voice said.

"Mmph", Hikaru mumbled, trying to wake up.

"Hikaru, it's time for you to go home", the voice said.

Hikaru then felt someone nudging him gently. He turned over to see Alix standing over him. "Huh?"

Alix smiled. "It's time for you to go to sleep in your own bed."

Hikaru blushed a little. "R-Right."

Alix let out a small chuckle before leaving the room.

Hikaru got up and started moving towards the door, still a bit groggy. He then looked over his shoulder, and saw Jason curled up on top of the covers. The raven-haired boy was cuddling his security blanket with a blissful expression on his face. He was also hugging his special teddy bear, Mister Fluffy Bear.

Hikaru's eyes grew soft as he put a hand to his cheek. 'Aww. I NEED a picture of this.' He took out his cell phone and snapped a picture. When he looked at it, he realized he'd forgotten to zoom in, so he took a second one. "Goodnight, snuggle bunny; I'll see you in the morning."

"Lily, do you think something at school is bothering Jason?" Alix asked as he and his wife pulled back the sheets and got in bed.

Lily sighed. "I'm not sure. But I hope not."

"He just seems so...down."

"Maybe you two could spend the day together next saturday; That might cheer him up."

"I just wish he'd stop pretending he's fine. I know he's upset about somthing."

"It'll be alright", Lily said softly. "Everything seems a lot worse than it actually is when you're a teenager. And I'm certain that if he was being severely bullied, he would tell us."

"You really think so?"

The blonde vampire nodded. "Trust me."

Jason awoke at around two in the morning. He felt a pang of sadness when he realized that Hikaru was no longer beside him. He looked up at one of his book shelves. His eyes scanned an array of novels before stopping on a new one he'd bought only a few days earlier. He frowned when he remembered what had happened at school on the day he got it.

Jason exited the classroom with an apathetic look on his face. He started heading towards his next class, slouching as he thought about how much he just wanted to go home to his parents. suddenly, he felt a small paper ball hitting him in the back of his head.

"Hey, you!" a boy shouted from a couple of feet away.

'Just ignore him', Jason thought to himself.

"Hey, short stack! Didn't you hear me?! I said 'hey'!"

'Keep walking'. At that moment, he felt another paper ball being pelted at him.

"Turn around, cream puff!"

Jason let out a long sigh. "Fine. What do you wa-?" Before he could compleat his question, he was grabbed by two husky senior students. They laughed as they carried him to the boy's bathroom. The older teenagers pulled the pale boy into one of the stalls and shoved his head into the toilet bowl. One of the guys then proceeded to flush the toilet repeatedly, guffawing all the while.

Jason gasped for air, his heart feeling like it was about to burst out of his chest.

"Hope you enjoyed that, retard!" one of the boys said before they left Jason alone in the stall.

Jason couldn't bring himself to get up off the floor. He shuddered as he tried to ignore the urge he had to vomit.

The young vampire turned around to see Hikaru standing behind him. "Hika-Hikaru", Jason whimpered, tears begining to build in his eyes.

Hikaru knelt down next to him. "Who did this to you? Just tell me their names, and I'll have Colleen put them in intensive care."

"It-it's alright; I'm okay."

"What are you talking about?! Look at what th-."

"C-can we just forget about this?" Jason whimpered.

The Asian boy's expression grew softer as he saw how broken Jason was in that moment. "Oh, Jase." He enveloped the smaller boy in a hug, rubbing his back comfortingly.

Jason settled down on his bed and began to read, escaping into the fictional world presented in the pages, Mister Fluffy Bear right by his side.

Renee lay awake in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She thought back to the night before. What was it about that kid's dad that made her keep thinking about him? 'Could he be-? Nah; Too big of a coincidence. But still, I wonder what ever did happen to that boy...'

Just a note; When I posted the first chapter of episode one, I messed something up and, as a result, Mister Fluffy Bear's name was shortened to simply Bear. Just thought I'd make that clear.
