"When the one thing you're looking for"
His face burned slightly from the offending sun. His hands and legs were jittery from excitement and anxiety. His face held a huge smile, one that was ready to rip off his cheeks. He stole a quick glance with his friend, both nodded slightly as the principal went up to the microphone.
"I am pleased to announce class of 2014!" The crowd roared in excitement and threw their hats up in the air.
He felt a slight tug on his wrist. He bent down and picked up his hat, dusting it off. Tying a string to his hat was a great idea. He ran a hand through his dark brown hair, messing up the gel that was holding it, and put on his cap.
He walked up to a woman hugging other graduates. He tapped her shoulder. She jumped a little and turned around with a slight alarmed look in her eyes which disappeared when her eyes landed on him. Now he could tell she was trying to hide her amusement, like she always did with him.
"Hello Cable," She greeted; the corner of her lips quirking up.
"Hello Miss Quinn," He paused, "Or can I call you Allison now?" He said with a mischievous grin.
She laughed slightly, "I don't think so, I'm not going to give you the privilege."
Cable scoffed in mock offense, "Oh please," He rolled his light blue eyes.
She laughed again, lightly, a sound that he loved to hear, especially in class. She sighed pleasantly, her brown eyes filled with amusement.
He smiled softly, "You're a great teacher, Miss Quinn. And if I'm not mistaken, my father taught you everything you know."
Allison smiled in remembrance, "He was a great man."
Forgetting his playful comment at her tone, he smiled hollowly, "Yeah, I wouldn't know."
Her eyes held sympathy, "Hey." He looked at her. She looked conflicted for a moment, opening and closing like a fish. He raised a questioning eyebrow. She smiled suddenly, "I hope I see you sometime soon."
He raised his eyebrows in surprise and stared at her retreating back.
