Simple Joys

A beautiful sunset,

The people I have met.

All the sights I see,

Simply being free.

Have a life,

So free of strife.

Watching my family grow,

As the pain drifts below.

The things I took for granted,

Now seem so enchanted.

These basic joys,

Like a distant noise,

So soft and elegant,

Can, at a distance, seem irrelevant.
But as you draw near,

Their value becomes clear.
