The Final Fight! Farewell to Our Friends!

"Impossible!" Thornos looked at Darek in shock. "How could you get so much power?!"

Darek gave an evil slasher grin while he glared at Thornos and Shazerus. "I don't know, but it feels great!" He grasped his sword, which glowed like fire when he grabbed the hilt. He then looked over to Jakel, still unconscious from the fight.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure these bastards pay." A fiery red aura shrouded him as he said this.

"Make us pay?" Thornos chuckled. "It doesn't matter where you got this new power from, it still won't be enough for you to beat us."

Darek grinned. "So you think." He grabbed his sword by the hilt and slowly began raising it up. "This has been going on for too long. I'm through playing around now. So if you think I won't be able to beat you, come and test that out right now." He got into a stance with his sword.

"Guess that new power came with a new attitude." Thornos also got into a stance. "Come on, show me the extent of that power!"

Before Thornos or Darek could do anything, Shazerus decided to take matters into his own hands and rushed at Darek and began attacking him at blinding speeds.

Darek didn't bother dodging or blocking anything. Instead taking the blows, just to prove how tough his new power made him.

Shazerus finished his barrage with a hard punch to the face, causing Darek to stumble backwards. Darek shook his head to regain himself, then smirk at Shazerus.

"Getting tired? You attacks are like baby kicks now." He cracked his neck then readied his sword. "Now it's my turn."

With his new power, Darek rushed even faster than normal, not even Shazerus or Thornos saw him move. Shazerus created a wall of sand in front of him for defense, but Darek's power penetrated the sand and knocked Shazerus back quite a distance.

"Impossible!" Thornos' eyes widen. "When his uses his sand wall it's as hard as stone! How could he get through it!?"

Still with his evil grin, Darek punched Shazerus right in the jaw with his unarmed hand, then punched him in the gut and gave him an uppercut.

"This new power, it's amazing!" Darek looked up, seeing Shazerus slowly descend to the ground. He got and evil grin on his face, plotting something. He walked a bit and and planted his sword in the ground, the tip facing towards the sky.

"I gotcha now!" Darek shouted, before jumping after Shazerus. With a swift and hard strike to the back, he knocked Shazerus back down to the ground, impaling him right in the stomach.

Thornos looked in horror at what happened. "Such brutality! It's starting to come together now. The sudden burst in power, his aura changing, and now the brutality. Could he really be one?!"

Darek landed back down and started heading towards Shazerus. "Well that was fun, but I need that sword back." He pried Shazerus off of his sword, grabbed it, then turned towards him to finish the job.

Shazerus ignore the pain and jumped up to his feet quickly and shot a blast of sand, creating a giant explosion of it.

"Ha! Got the brat!" Thornos had an evil grin on his face, but it quickly changed to a look of horror when the sand cleared.

Shazerus stood on his knees with Darek's sword impaled right in his chest.

"Not so tough now, are ya sand boy?" Darek pulled the sword out and raised it over his head. "I'm gonna enjoy this." Darek swung down and struck Shazerus in the shoulder, bringing him more into the ground.

"You know what? Ever since I've been here, I think about all the pain you caused. To Faith and her father, the people here, and Jakel. And I realized, what you feel here is nothing compared to what you did to everyone." He raised his sword and struck the other shoulder, causing him to lay completely on the ground, defenseless.

"Now it's time that you pay for your crimes." He raised his sword for one last time. "It's over." He spoke this in almost a faint whisper as his sword came down right on the sand demon's neck, decapitating him and finally putting a stop to the terror.

Thornos stared and Darek with horror in his widen eyes. "H-he killed Shazerus! What does this mean for me?"

Darek drew his sword once again then looked at Thornos. "And now, it's your turn." Darek began a slow and menacing walk towards him.

"I'm not gonna die so easily if that's what you're trying to say!" He charged up a bit of his demonic dark powers in one of his hands, and launched a small, dark energy ball at Darek.

The energy ball made contact with Darek, creating a huge cloud of smoke. As the smoke cleared, Darek still continue walking towards Thornos, looking untouched.

"W-what?!" Thornos said with horror. "Stay back! I'm warning you!" He approached Darek and threw a punch, but without any effort, Darek sidestepped the attack and sliced his sword right onto Thornos' wrist, cutting his hand off.

"AAAAAAAAH!" Thornos dropped to his knees and looked over to his now stub of a hand. "What have you done?!"

Darek chuckled as he walked over to the demon and readied his sword. "And now..." Before he could finish, his eye changed back to normal, the fang he had recessed, and his hair changed back to his normal color.

"What is this?" Thornos thought.

Darek then suddenly dropped his sword, and then fell to the ground, passed out.

"So, the brat's returned to normal?" Thornos got back on his feet, then took a look at his missing hand. "I can't believe it! Losing my hand to a kid like him. Well Shazerus may be dead, but I still have to finish my job. With these brats knocked out, it'll be no problem killing them." Thornos picked up Darek's unconscious body with one hand, and began charging energy in the other, holding it to his face. "It'll all be over soon."

"W-wait." A faint voice called out.

"Oh great, what is it now?" Thornos dropped Darek and turned around, only to get blown away from a powerful gust of wind. "What the?!"

There stood Jakel, beaten, battered, and bruised. He only had one eye open and one of his arms was going limp. Yet he managed to muster up the strength for one more Force Gale.

"Keep your dirty hands off of my friend." His voice had a bit of determination in it.

"I'm in no condition to start another fight." Thornos thought. "Dammit! These brats are tough! I'll have to withdraw. You win this time human, but mark my words, I will be back." And with that, the demon disappeared into the depths of Hell.

"F-finally." Jakel said before falling back to the ground. "We did it guys, we won." Despite the injuries he had, all he could do was chuckle.

Jakel slowly opened his eyes, not realizing he had passed out once again. He took a look around, noticing he was back in Shiba's castle.

"How'd I get back here?" He tried to get up, but fell back to the bed in pain.

"Don't try moving just yet." A voice called. "You wounds haven't healed." Shiba walked into the room and greeted Jakel with a smile.

"Oh! Shiba! You're okay now!"

Shiba chuckled. "Yes, I'm fine. Sadly I can't say the same for you and Darek."

"Are you kidding me? I'll get over this soon enough." Jakel hit his chest as he said this, but then yelp out in pain.

Shiba chuckled once again. "Take it easy Jakel. I wouldn't want you getting injured from yourself. Listen, I just came in to tell you, thank you. You, Raiyo, and the boys, you were all such a big help."

Jakel smiled. "Don't mention it. Anything for a friend."

"Now, get some rest. When you're ready you can come down and eat with your friends. A feast has been prepared in honor of this victory."

"There's food!?" Jakel's eyes lit up. "I haven't had anything that good since I got over here." Jakel got out of bed and rushed down to the dining area, almost like his injuries just suddenly disappeared.

"Well, what a fast recovery."

Later

"Oh man, this is good!" Jakel said as he took a bite of meat. "I wish we ate like this at home."

"Maybe if you actually did something, a feast would be made for us." Darek said.

"Hey! We stopped a whole demon invasion and we didn't get to eat afterwards!" Bits of food came out of Jakel's mouth when he spoke.

"Don't talk with your mouth full." Darek hit him in the back of the head.

Josh chuckled at his friends, and Raiyo looked in embarrassment. "That's enough boys."

Shiba chuckled. "Reminds you of the old days, doesn't it Raiyo?" He chuckled again.

Faith picked at her food, still having a lot on her mind. "Um, dad?"

"What is it dear? Why haven't you taken a bite of food yet?"

"I've been thinking, you know, about leaving with them."

"Faith, you're still serious about this?"

"Yes dad, why wouldn't I be?"

"Well Faith, I just don't think going out with them is something fit for a girl of royal status."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Hey guys check this out." Jakel used the bone from the meat to put in his nose, looking like a caveman. "Me caveman, me very hunger."

The boys laughed as Raiyo just looked at him with a small smile. "What am I gonna do with you?"

"Look Faith, I'll give you a decision, and you have to have it made by tomorrow. Either you leave with them tomorrow morning, or you stay here and become next in line to rule. Your choice."

Faith just looked down at her food and sighed.

"Hey, look what else I can do with the bone." Jakel said.

Josh and Darek's laughter quickly turned into sounds of disgust.

"So, what have you decided?" Darek asked, laying on Faith's bed.

"I don't know yet, I'm still thinking." Faith looked over to him. "You've gotten a bit comfy on my bed."

"I'm still resting up." He chuckled.

"Oh, using that excuse?" She chuckled as well. "So, what can I expect if I go with you guys?"

"Well, usually we just spend most of our days training and learning new moves, until something happens that is. You know the usual, demons, bad guys, all of that."

"Sounds pretty exciting!"

"It just recently started happening, so this may be the last time." Darek thought for a bit. "Faith, it's completely your decision, but I think you should stay here."

"What? Why do you say that?"

"No offense, but there's not really any reason for you to come with us. But this place on the other hand, the people need you, your dad needs you."

Faith sighed. "But, I really wanted to go with you guys,"

"I don't make your decisions, it's just a suggestion. I'm gonna go to bed now, hopefully you have your decision tomorrow. Good night." Darek walked off.

"Good night." Faith sighed before crawling into her bed and falling asleep.

"Man, I'm still pretty tired from that fight." Darek passed right by Jakel, who was against the wall of Faith's room.

"Wait up." Darek turned around and face Jakel. "Just what are you doing there?!"

"I completely thought you and Faith were gonna hook up." Jakel chuckled.

"So you spied on us?!" Darek snapped.

"Well when you put it that way, it does sound pretty bad." Jakel let out a nervous chuckle.

"You idiot! Go to bed!"

Raiyo and his students stood next to the very same ship they used to get the desert. It was now stuffed with crates and barrels of supplies needed to repair their city. Shiba, Gaz, and the thousands of civilians all waited for them to leave, ready to give them the goodbye they deserved. Everyone was there, everyone except Faith.

"Well Raiyo, it sure has been great seeing you again. Once again, thank you for your help." Shiba said.

"Don't mention it friend, it was nice seeing you also." Raiyo chuckled. "Hopefully we'll meet again, but on better terms."

"Yea, hopefully." Shiba chuckled back.

"Well lad, I'm gonna miss ya!" Gaz pat Josh on the back with a lot of force.

"Hey, hey! Take it easy!" Josh replied to him.

"Sorry, I just didn't think a wee squirt like you could inspire me so much." Gaz laughed.

"I'm just gonna take that as a compliment."

While everyone socialized and prepared for a bidding farewell, Faith finally appeared before the boys.

"Oh! Hey Fai-" Jakel said, before Darek interrupted him by moving him out the way.

He walked up to Faith, and looked at her. "So, have you made you decision?"

Faith smiled. "I have."

"So, what is it?" Darek said with wonder.

Faith walked up to him and gave him a hug.

"H-hey! This wasn't a choice!" Darek was surprised.

"See? I told you Josh." Jakel said. "Now you owe me five bucks."

Faith let go of Darek, then walked up to Jakel, then hugged him too. "And thank you Jakel."

"I'm not really the hugging kind of person." He replied back.

Faith let go, then gave a hug to Josh. "And thank you two Josh. Thank you guys for the help. I would love to go with you guys, but I decided that I'm gonna stay."

Josh looked down on Faith, who was still hugging him. "Um..."

Shiba chuckled. "I'm glad you decided to stay Faith, this place is really gonna need you."

Faith let go of Josh, then stood next to her father. "Bye you guys! Come visit sometimes!"

Raiyo and his students all waved to the crowd of people, waving back and biding them farewell.

"Alright, lets get out of here." Raiyo told his students.

Josh set the sails and the ship began slowly drifting away from the desert, and on it's way back to Gyro City.

Raiyo walked over to the front of the ship, and took a look at the clear, blue, open seas.

"So, he's grown, hasn't he?" A voice called out.

"He sure has." Raiyo replied back.

Suddenly, The Exorcist beamed down from above, onto the ship right next to Raiyo, watching the seas with him. "I've been watching all of his battles since you've all made it to the desert. And I have to say, I'm pretty impressed."

"I think he's pretty down about it though."

"Why would you say that?"

"He didn't win, and I know he says he doesn't care, but deep down, I know he's just thinking about getting stronger and training as soon as he's healed."

The Exorcist didn't respond for a while, just thinking. "Does he know about fighting spirit?"

Raiyo shook his head. "No, I don't think he does."

"Well just wait for that then. The boy is powerful enough already. If he finds out about that, he'll be almost unbeatable."

"I know, I don't want him to push himself right now though."

The Exorcist chuckled. "I know, I know. So, are you gonna tell him about it?"

"I think I'll let him figure it out for himself. The more he learns on his own, the better of a fighter he'll become."

The Exorcist nodded. "Sounds just like the Raiyo from the past." He chuckled. "Well, I'll be watching over, and seeing how he progresses. Take care Raiyo." The Exorcist beamed back up, leaving Raiyo.

"Good bye my friend." Raiyo turned around and went over to his students. "Good job you guys. Now, we just have to get the city repaired, and it's back to training."

"We're not gonna be the ones repairing it, are we?" Jakel asked.

"Of course not. I have to show a little mercy." Raiyo chuckled. "Now it's just smooth sailing ahead."

"Great! I'm sick of the desert and sailing on the seas!" Gyro City, we're coming back home!"
