I'm Not Your Cinderella

By: Liz

I'm not your Cinderella

I don't wear glass shoes

I don't sleep in an attic

I've got nothing to lose

Will it fill me up with panic?

I'm not your Cinderella.

I'm not your Cinderella,

My dress isn't fancy

And I got no fairy godmother

And I suck at being dancy.

Should my prince be like a brother?

I'm not your Cinderella.

I'm not your Cinderella,

I wasn't invited to a ball

To attend your return.

I would rather walk into a wall

But I wouldn't rather burn.

I'm not your Cinderella.

I'm not your Cinderella,

Do you enjoy watching me cry?

You stand there as my heart beats

Should I just say goodbye?

My face is starting to heat

I'm not your Cinderella.

"I'm not your Cinderella,"

I say as you watch me cry

As you hold me close,

I wanted to just sigh

But you're what I needed most.

I am your Cinderella.
