Apparition

Like an apparition in the night,

You steal me into darkness,

Cloaking me in a shroud of nothing,

Bidding me into never after.

Sweet whispers from your lips,

Fall upon my neck,

Like petals of a lily,

Ever soft and sweet like sin.

And a harken of love unknown,

Slides across my flesh,

As if fingertips of a lover,

Leaving forever darkened prints on my soul.

Carelessness bids me follow,

For your voice is pleading; lovely.

But luckily my mind, ever sharp,

Stows away my heart, ever foolish.

For your words are sweetly pining,

But your tongue, touched with poison,

Is dripping cyanide to my soul,

Killing slowly, what is no longer mine.
