There's Only One Way to Look at the Sun
I've learned how to swim but forgot how to breathe.
Stroke after stroke, I leave.
Swimming away, it's no better than running.
I choke as I stroke, stunning...
My arms become heavy, gravity pokes my legs.
Half of me swims, half of me begs.
Halfway through the ocean my body begins to cry,
I kick and scream like a child falling from the sky.
Fear is a catalyst for the destruction of your soul.
Volcanic ash could not cloud the clarity.
I erupt with emotion as I reach for the gold.
Warm and inviting, I disarm my dexterity.
And I sink. Down, down, into the depths.
I've run out fear. I've run out of breath.
