Monster in the Mirror

Inside the glass,
The face taunts her.
Encased by brass,
The image haunts her.

Alone. Voices echo,
Spit venom in her ears,
True, the words are so.
Confirm her worst fears.

Worthless, ugly,
The image laughs at her.
Pathetic, lonely,
Who could ever love her?

Naked, she looks hard,
Forced to take in the sight,
Of self inflicted scars,
She gives herself at night.

Alas, it doesn't matter,
For this is the end.
The glass it shatters,
As her knees buckle and bend.

Her life flashes but yet,
All she will remember,
Is an image she won't forget.
The monster in the mirror.
