Author's Note: This really isn't anything big, just a story I wrote based off a picture someone drew. Basically one of her characters has a crush on another character.

None The Wiser

"Hey, you ready to go?"

Skyler looked up and saw Kyle standing next to his locker, and he couldn't help but smile at the sight of his tutor.

"Yeah, just let me grab my books," he said, picking a few textbooks out of his locker before standing up. "Alright, I'm ready."

The two started walking towards the school lunchroom, side by side. They had agreed to study during lunch today, as they normally did.

"Did you get your report card?" Kyle asked, looking over at Skyler.

"Yeah," Skyler said with a small nod.

"How was your math grade?"

"A little better," Skyler said with a shrug, remembering the "B+" on his report card. "I'm not failing if that's what you're asking."

"Really?" Kyle asked, looking surprised. "I would have thought with all those good test scores you would have done better."

"I bombed the exam," Skyler lied. "I guess I'll have to study more. You're still up for helping me, right?"

"Of course," Kyle said with a smile. "What are friends for?"

"Thanks, I owe you one," Skyler said with a grin.

The two walked in silence for a few minutes, giving Skyler a chance to think. How long was he going to be able to keep this up? Kyle had been tutoring him for three months, and Skyler was surprised he hadn't been caught by now. For all of his brains, Kyle could be pretty thick. But pretending to be terrible at math just to spend time with him couldn't last forever, as much as Skyler wished it could. He was going to have to fess up sometime. If only he could find the courage to do it…

"Hey, are you alright?"

"Hm?" Skyler blinked, snapping himself out of his thoughts. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Kyle asked, adjusting his glasses. "You've been staring at me for a while now."

Whoops. "Sorry," Skyler said with an apologetic smile. "I was just thinking, didn't mean to stare."

"Alright," Kyle said with a shrug, turning his attention back to where he was going.

And even after all that, Kyle was still none the wiser…

Final Thoughts: Wow this is short... And I'm not sure I like the way it reads. Maybe I'll fix it later.
