Many, many years ago,
in the kingdom of the unknown

The king without a name, sat upon his throne
watching the starving villagers below.
He sat and watched, but did not do a thing
and so he sat, for he was the king.

Many men came to him, begging for anything
But no matter the reason, the king without a name
did not do a thing.

Then one day, an old man came,
frail and sick, he was. He begged the king
for anything, for his hungry children and wife.

But the nameless king, without a name,
sat upon his throne and did not do a thing.
The old man left, dragged away,
and the king without a name, did not do a thing.

A young boy came, the very next day
to speak before the king.
"My father came to you, and you refused,
and he died as you dragged him away!"

"Does a king like you, with everything
not give your kingdom anything?"
The king watched the boy, from upon his throne
and said with a frown upon his face:

"The old man came, and he asked for anything
for his hungry children and wife.
I did not do a thing, for I am the king,
the nameless king with all my might."

The very next day, after the boy was dragged away
the villagers came, and protested all day,
all day and all night.

Yet the king without a name, did not a thing
and sat upon his throne with a smile.
The boy came back, and asked again,
"Do we not mean anything?"

The nameless king, only smiled, and yet again
the boy was dragged away.

The very next day, the villagers came,
and set fire to the king's castle of stone.
Flames engulfed, what was left of the empty walls
of the king without a name.

Many, many years ago
in the kingdom of the unknown

The king without a name, sat upon his throne
watching the flames engulf his home.
But he did not do a thing, for he was the king
The King without a Name.
