moths drawn to sunlight.

paper-thin wings
captured us to somewhere
far away from
here.
akin to origami airplanes
we carried the whispers
and sins of wind
upon ourselves,
out to sea.
scattered like snowflake
ashes adrift in uncertain
water; there float
your promises.

we abandoned infinity
long ago to capsize
in oil-laced waters.
exchanged it for the
final chapter
found in romeo and juliet.
in unison we journeyed
beyond oxygen and
seagulls, challenging our
lungs until our lips
touched the sun and we
burnt up in a supernova
and
together
rained
down
into our reflections;
that is our reality.
