Though the moon had been aglow,
Locusts swarmed and engulfed its light,
Whereas, once, shadows descended from the sky,
They now arose, mesmerizing all who laid eyes upon them,
and though the stars distended to accommodate the darkness,
There was little they could do to prevent it from happening,
And due to their negligence, those who were spectating surmised
that, had they been more diligent, they would not have lost their light.
