"So, why'd you call?" Misa said, sitting down at the table. She wore a pink, flowing tank top, dark skinny jeans, and a pair of pink heels. Her smile suggested genuine happiness, but said otherwise.
"I... I wanted to tell you something," Alex replied, sounding nervous. Alex got up from the table and held his hand out to Misa. She took it and he gently pulled her to her feet. Alex cupped Misa's face and stared passionately into her eyes.
"I love you," Alex whispered just before Misa pressed her lips to his. The kiss felt genuine to Alex but realized something was wrong.
Alex felt a gut-wrenching pain in his stomach and saw what looked like pink smoke come out of his mouth and draft into Misa's. He fell to the floor, gasping for air.
Misa walked away, her heels clicking against the tile which made an echoing sound that resonated off the walls. What happened with Alex was just another one to her. She took his heart, but didn't give it a second thought.
It's just another one.
Author's Note: I'm sorry that I haven't been posting lately! This weekend was my birthday, so I was pretty busy. I finished my two other stories, and I'm starting to work on another one and getting it ready to post. I'm going to try to get back in the habit of posting for this story every day, or at least every other day.
