He stepped back in fear as he felt his heart thumping in his throat. Across him stood a tall girl - no woman. Her red-stained lips pulled back in a fierce snarl and her eyes pierced through the dim light. She leaned forward as if to lunge at any given moment and her fingers curled tightly into a fist. Blood trickled down the large gashing on the right side of her forehead, dying the tips of her silver bang with a dark maroon.
She hissed at him, "Did you just hit me?" He stepped further back, trying to clutch around his right arm behind his back in hopes of finding a pole, a stick, anything. Her eyes flickered in amusement as she stared steadily at his ashen face. "Well?" He gulped before feeling the coldness of a metal seep into his fingers. Tightly holding it behind himself, he lunged suddenly at her in a spark of foolish bravery. Alas, she only showed a second of sympathy before raising her right hand and plunging it through his chest.
The rod flung aside as his body crumpled down onto the ground near her legs as if he was kissing her feet. She sneered before stepping over his body and walking out of the alleyway.
