Marking the End
Here we hold our treasured ground,
Tying the ropes from which we're bound.
We wander among these solemn graves
And watch the torment day by day.
Within our hearts lies dire hope
But in the end it seems just a hoax.
As the sands of time slowly diminish
We seem as though we are almost finished.
As you inhale for the first time
Someone exhales for the last
Life is so tiny and fragile make sure to make it last.
Every moment is a gift to be replayed and remembered
So tend to memories with these loving hands,
And hold on to others as you make new bands.
Here we walk on this optimistic earth
And soon to be wound in this giant mass of hearth.
Leaving our mark because soon we will depart
And all there is to stop us is the beating of our heart.
