First off I would like to thank you for reading; this is would be my very first piece of work that I have put out. Any type of Critiques, or suggestions are welcome, since this is my first story; I have no experience at this kind of thing.
Thanks in advance. Jojospace13
-Ah! The Ignorance-
In the dark silhouette of Hinode city all you can see is the bright moon casting the city's shadow on the already dark ocean waters bordering the east side of the city. For people crossing the dangerous Mouille Desert to reach the city, they see a calm, seemingly prosperous city. Francis Lancett is one of these people en route to the city along with his older sister Genesis; whom is the only family Francis or Francy has ever remembered having. Francy is generally laid back and reclusive, but was not opposed to moving to the town they lived in before was called Contessia, and was once full of lush farmlands, but the neighboring pirate raiders would always plunder the town, and leave the citizens without much to eat. This led to the town's economic status to deteriorate. The main reason for the move however was because Genesis landed a good paying job in Hinode as a reporter for the Sunshine News Corporation, and since she is the one whom has all the financial responsibility, Francy had little say as to where they would be living, not that he wanted to keep living in the pirate infested Contessia anyways.
Lately the world has seen an increase in Alpha-Humans or Alphas, which are people with remarkable abilities that mostly defy the laws of physics with abilities such as flight, Pyro kinesis, or superhuman strength to name a few. Because of this spike in the Alpha population there has been a high demand for news reporters and journalists in all parts of the world. In the city of Hinode, there are many well-known Alphas who have formed an alliance and simply go by the name Heroes, they are the sworn protectors of the city and keep the city safe from crime and Alphas with evil agendas. Francy admires the Heroes greatly, even though he himself is not an Alpha, he has a very strong sense of Justice and is in his sophomore year of college majoring in Criminal Justice.
As Francy will come to find out, Hinode will be the place where his sense of Justice and moral code will be put to the ultimate test. As the Sun rises and casts the city's shadow on the Desert to the West, Francy wakes up as the bus draws close to its destination. "Finally, Hinode City" he says as the bright morning light sends stray streaks of light into his bright yellow eyes, and he finds himself admiring the view of the city one last time, as he will soon find out that Hinode is anything but the calm, safe and moral city that everyone portrays it to be.
In the far distance, on the roof of a building on the western border; a tall man with long blonde hair watches as the bus enters the city. "Well, looks like our candidate has arrived on that bus. I wonder what God has in store for him?"
