Color Blind
Color surrounds me
Red, yellow, green, blue…
Too loud, too bright…
All speaking, whispering…
Red raging in my ear
Green gnashing at me
Yellow whining and blinding
Blue bearing down on me
How can I bear all this pain?
The pain of colors, all stabbing me
As if they were knives –
They were knives…
Knives…
Why do I bear all this pain?
I look at the glass shard in my hand
The transparency, the uncolored color
So beautiful
The one thing I desire
My lips spreading into a smile
I plunge the shard into my heart…
At last
Colorless
