Thank you for all the reviews! I'm so flattered! I can't believe you all read it!

She had to practically beg Josh to give her her first day's pay right now, instead of in the two weeks that were required. She needed clothes now. But after he finally relented, and gave it to her, she realized she barely had enough to buy more than a shirt and a pair of undies. But she went for it, running for the nearest store, and purchasing a blue blouse, a package of underwear, and a toothbrush. Tomorrow, she'd get more.

"Thank you Josh!" she said as she ran back past the cafe, waving. He waved back, and a second later, Ranson came out.

"Wait, Carly!" he shouted, and she stopped and waited for him. He ran up and smiled.

"Going back to the dorms?" he asked, and she nodded.

"Yeah, want to walk with me?"

He smiled brightly. "Yeah!"

They walked, and it was pretty quiet, but than he said, "So, how are you liking the school?"

"It's okay." she said, looking at him. Maybe he should be the one she got together with? He seemed nice, and he was probably an easy character to impress. The faster she could get together with one, the faster she could go home. He was just a videogame character after all.

Then Ranson suddenly shouted, "Hey!" very angirly, and ran ahead. She stared at him running away, confused, and than saw a group of boys surrounding another boy, pushing him violently. She gasped. It was Derek. The biggest guy grabbed Derek by the front of the shirt, pulling back his hand to punch him.

She ran to help him, but Rason was already there, pushing away one of the bigger guys. Derek jumped up and pushed another one, and Carly ran over and pushed one too.

"Go away!" she shouted, and the guys laughed. There was still one more of them.

But then another voice shouted, "Get away from my freaking cafe, assholes!" And she saw it was Josh, carrying a broom. He swung it, and almost hit a guy in the face. They ran off.

"Thanks Josh!" she said, and he shrugged.

"Yeah. Be careful." And he walked away.

Derek turned to Ranson.

"Thanks for the help man. I thought I was toast."

Ranson smiled. "No problem. What was they're problem?"

"They got all uppity because I bumped into one of em."

"How childish." Carly said, and Derek nodded.

"You guys going back to school? Mind if I walk with you?"

They shook they're heads. "Don't mind." Ranson said, and they all started walking. Carly walked a bit behind, watching them laugh and joke around. It made her feel bad about how she thought of them. The way Derek had helped her find a place to stay, and Sam moving her onto the bed, and Ranson running to help Derek, and Josh running to help them, and Clark helping her pick up the spilled materials, and all kinds of stuff. The boys all seemed so human.

Don't get close, she warned herself. They're just characters. That's all.

But then both Ranson and Derek turned to look at her and smiled, making her to take it back again.

That night, Carly dreamed about home. She dreamed she was with her friends, and that they all were having so much fun. Would she ever see them again? Was she stuck here forever? When she woke up, she was crying.

Sam was standing over her, looking down at her worriedly, a hand gently on her shoulder.

"Are you okay?" he asked, and she nodded, and sat up.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up."

He shook his head. "It's okay. I wasn't asleep anyway."

She blinked. "Why not?"

"Just not tired." he said, and he sat on the edge of the bed. She felt bad about making him sleep on the floor. This was his room after all.

"Here." she said, getting up. "This is your room. You should get the bed."

He shook his head. "It's okay. I'm a guy. I can handle it."

She giggled. "What does that have to do with anything?"

He smiled and flipped his hair out of his face. "Guys are built to stand this stuff better than girls."

"Well I feel bad. So get on the bed."

He looked at her for a minute, than blushed suddenly. "Maybe we could share?" he offered in a whisper, and she found herself blushing back.

"Oh um...okay." she said, getting in. He laid next to her, and she expected him to try something, but he didn't. He just whispered, "Good night." And a second later, she heard him breathing softly as he fell asleep. She smiled. He was very sweet.

"Good night." she whispered back.

The next morning, she felt better, now that she had a new shirt to wear. She looked at Sam and they both smiled. Sitting next to him, Clark's eyes widened in surprise.

"How'd you do that?" he asked her.

"Do what?"

"Get him to smile!" he said in his british accent. She laughed, and than waved to Derek as he came into the room.

"Good morning!" she said, and he smiled.

"Good morning."

Than Xavier came in, and said, "Hey, did you think about joining my club?"

She shrugged and smiled. "Sorry, I've been busy. Next time I'll have an answer for sure!"

He shook his head patienly. "Promise?" he said, and they shook hands.

Xavier walked away, and he looked back and winked at her. She blushed, and sat down.

She didn't even notice the girl sitting across the room that narrowed her eyes at her.

Who do you guys think she should get together with? I'm thinking either Sam or Ranson. But what do you want? She's going to get together with all of them, like in alternate endings but who should she get together with first?
